Trias Select Elect

So I ve decided to cover that now with respect to various things that are important to me personally. Traditionally I have been a swinging voter and a protest voter too I suppose. Have voted for both sides before and some minors to boot. As an aid here s a simple summary of the major parties a la Yanqui. Liberal The incumbent conservative party usually considered a strong business party. Labour The primary opposition a powerful party of moderate politics and strong trade union ties. National The minor party allied with the liberals in a Coalition. The Nationals are conservative country farming party strong in rural seats. Greens A minor extreme liberal party obviously with an environmental agenda. So we re talking major parties minors and a bunch of tiny or independents. Let s start with the party s face. Leadership Liberals John Howard was once a good leader. Unfortunately he s become worse over time to his current state of low energy and high rhetoric.! His arrogance is a significant negative to me. He does intend to retire and hand power to Peter Costello. Presuming that s true I feel very bad about that. Costello is a poor leader with even worse charisma. Labour Kevin Rudd is relatively new and young. He s shown himself to be capable in debating and doesn t blink with Mr Howard. He also doesn t seem to have the instability or unpopularity his predecessors had. He s eloquent and intelligent. I feel positive about his abilities as a leader. Our family is slightly better off now but I personally am not. The promises seem to offer nothing to me or my family economically. Labour Little to go by really. Their policies are similar to the Liberals. Historically I haven t been very impressed by Labour. Others Unless they get some real power it really is too hard to judge. Greens and Family First could be disastrous. The Liberals want to bash them while they are weaker to give business an edge. It was severe and! for reasons and so Liberals backpedalled and slapped a fairness test on it. IMO this test could actually be bad for business when Labour gets in power. All that aside it doesn t mean squat to me. I actually prefer unions and business to fight. That is somewhat mitigated by my appreciation of getting anything at all. Health Liberals I m pretty irate on how poorly the Liberals have performed in the area. The best offered is to handball responsibility to the state governments. But this is time for grownups. Taking responsibility you know. And given my own health care it s a significant black mark for the state and national incumbents. I have myself and my family to watch out for here and secure I do not feel. Crime and Justice My only exposure to this issue has been limited. Which is to say i haven t suffered any major crime in a while. Environment Climate Change is real. Many other environmental problems are also real. I am not with most conservatives on this issue who mostly are denialists. I feel the Liberals have done as litt! le as possible on the issue. In this way I am disappointed with the Greens. I feel religious services are an after school activity if desired. So in this area I m largely with the Liberals and against pretty much every other party. I am not so charmed by the refugee illegal immigrant situation. I support quick processing and removal of legal involvement. Accept them in or reject them and send them home. I also think Australia needs a more accepting legal immigration system. In short we don t need illegal immigrants we need more legal ones. Gay Obviously gay issues have some importance to me as well. They are very quiet in order to keep their Christian gay hating fan base. Labour promises some defacto like arrangements and is as quiet as they feel they can be. Rudd did state he did not support gay marriage. The Greens are gay friendly. At this time I lean mildly towards Labour.

Not much on my mind. Such is life. That's how it is. I've more or less been doing nothing worth mentioning, but so it goes. I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen.
